Chicago area get-together?

It seems that there are more and more of us in the Chicago area. Does anyone want to have a bit of a get-together? Maybe a day at the zoo, or plan for everyone to attend a CHS meeting? Or even just lunch?

Count me in. Zoo, lunch, swap, which ever. I'm up for it. Probably couldn't make a CHS meeting though. I'd have to do a weekend.

Ahhhh come on you gotta make this meeting its show and tell month. Meeting is the last wednesday of each month. Starts at 7:30 ish. This one will be a great time for all, and Kids are definately welcome, they have a blast!!!

Swap works good too.

I'm going to try to make it to the CHS meeting this month. I'll have to trade shifts with someone to get the night off. I'm going to the swap Sunday, not sure what time though. As far as get togethers go, I'd be more than happy to have everyone over for a cookout sometime. I'm off just about every weekend.

I'd like to get together sometime this summer....just now is a bad time. 2 more weeks til baby is due. After that, I'll be more than happy to get away sometime. Just a thought for the future.

How about planning something for the weekend of July 26th? Preferably something cheap, as I'll be going to the Blue Man Group Complex tour the weekend before, and I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of money. HAHAHA I just went to the swap and they raised the entrance fee from $3.00 to $4.00. I had to ask them is this to make up for the free Monkey Pox viruses they are giving out? The 26th at the zoo!! Perfect!! I'm assuming Brookfield? Unless we don't need an "all-day" thing. In which case I might suggest Lincoln Park, as it can easily be covered in a couple of hours. (The reptile house at Brookfiled is GREAT if I remember correctly". Hey, on the subject of large snakes in captivity, anyone been to see "Baby" in the dells at Serpent Safari?? [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img] I have only seen pictures. Apparently she's the largest in captivity? Is that correct, or did I fall for a rumor??

Zoo trip sounds good. Brookfield actually has an ok herp collection. They lost a good amount of Boids to IBD. How bout maybe Milwaukee Zoo? If not Brookfield is fine with me.
Sepent Safari? I really dont want to spend $7.00 to see 4-5 over hyped snakes. And maybe an albino gator. Just my .02. Im not a big fan of Serpent Safari. At least in the zoo the proceeds go more towards the care of the animals, not to pad someones pocket.

As of now July 26 sounds good.

Brookfiled zoo sounds good to me. We haven't been there in quite a few years. Do we want to meet somewhere other than the zoo, so it's easier to find each other? I'm not familiar with the area, so if anyone knows of a good meeting place, that would be cool.
