Herping the Glades and it's surrounding areas mid Dec.
Anyone want to herp the everglades and it's surrounding areas?
The trip will be focused on introduced species and a few things I will be looking for are Veiled Chameleons, Spectacle Caiman, Nile monitors, tegus, gecko ssp, Burmese and African rocks as well as any HYBRID VIGOR!
I have leads to where I can find the general locations of the animals, so if anyone else is interested post up on here.
Also note, the trip will be a no kill expedition and collecting will be depending on circumstances.

Sounds good, let me know.
Louise, I couldn't just simply kill something. The burms will be removed as I know a few people wanting "Florida wild" burms. So, any that we find will be saved from the "hunt"

we might actually be coming down to Fla in early Dec We have a free military 5 day pass at disney... so if we can take like 10 days, we will go hit up disney and then head down to the glades

not to thread jack, but Universal Studios offers one for 4 days for both of their parks there and is MUCH better than Disney, IMO. Also... free day at SeaWorld since you'll already be in Orlando.

Sounds good guys, Let me know.
Also, I have two kayaks. I'm trying to get a hold of a few buddies down there so we can get access to some land and john boats.

Re: Herping the Glades and it's surrounding areas mid Dec.
I'm down for it. Don't know how well December is going to work with my schedule at work since I'm the new guy, but I'll ask.
I have two friends down there that we can get in touch with as well who are knowledgable about good herping locations.
Are we talking a week or weekend??

Re: Herping the Glades and it's surrounding areas mid Dec.
That'd be sweet, Kyle. Was going to ask you through facebook if you guys were wanting to go. I'm planning on doing a week. I have mandatory vacation 21-25 and I believe the weekends, so I think I'll hang out down there the entire time. Anyone is welcome to come for the day, weekend or week.
I would drive. The burms are on a catch and keep status. I have friends wanting the ones that no one else claims. I personally won't be keeping any, but you guys are welcome to. So, I would drive, heh.

Re: Herping the Glades and it's surrounding areas mid Dec.
I might be interested in a day or two depending on how my other half's work situation is looking. I might be able to wrangle a couple friends into going too, which would be good since they have loads of equipment and contacts down there.

Mid December might be possible for me... not sure. I'd like to go. I'll know more when it gets closer.

Re: Herping the Glades and it's surrounding areas mid Dec.
If your wanting to camp you may have to reserve a site now, just an FYI..
I'd be probably more flexible to do a weekend and more like the 12-13, the 25-28 is most likely out of the question and the weekend previous they probably wouldn't let me off... I'll ask on Saturday and see.
