More from the tip of Texas..
Hello! I got these images over the last week or so here in Brownsville near the southernmost point in Texas..
.
This Ribbon snake was up in the tangle very early in the day..
.

.
.. here's more of the Drymobius .. these things are fascinating to watch and exhibit interesting ( even perhaps unique) behaviours.. The trick is to try to observe them just doin' Speckled Racer stuff.. not responding to us..
.

.
.. the light 'spear-point' marking on the brown head is rather distinctive and even obvious, including at a substantial distance.... hard to say exactly what's going on with their color and pattern displays.. some of which seem more lizard-like than what we expect of snakes..
.

.
We've had some rain finally and I'm sure things must be picking up on the roads.. field observations are rather slow..
.
Thanks for reading!

I saw a wild rat-snake at the Dallas zoo today, does that count? haha
Thanks for sharing, Gus
