So, I get a call yestedrday evening...
and it's a cousin who lives right on the Tarrant and Johnson County line with news about something that he has in a box for me. I already knew where this was going... but I was expecting a Texas ratsnake. Those things are everywhere.
Nope. Pituophis!!!
It's nice to see one that hasn't been flattened by a gas truck.
This guy was not very happy.
We shot some pictures and took him to the back of the property and set him free. Good times.

Pituophis = pine, gopher or bull snake ( i'm not smart i just googled it hehe) looks like a bull to me but i may be wrong i'm guessing cause of size.

Wow; he is gorgeous! a Pituophis (Pacific Gopher) was my first ever snake, so I have a huge soft spot for those guys.
