Ok, so I probably posted WAAAY more images than I should have, but it's hard to narrow a fun trip down to only a few.....Enjoy!
Had a blast last month down in Costa Rica. My dad has a beach condo there in a town on the Pacific coast called Tamarindo. This was my 2nd year down there and my primary goal was to find and photograph a wild boa (or any snake for that matter), but alas they have escaped me again. We did lots of stuff from hanging out on the beach, exploring the coast, hiking on an active volcano, spelunking 200ft down inside a cave, plus more.
Anyway, enough of that stuff....Between my dad and me, we took over 14 GB of pics and video, so here's a very small amount of pics of just a few animals we saw.
Turtles in a pond at a shopping center in town
Need I say anything about this one?
Nice reflection
Some kind of lizard, was only about 4" long and missing the end of his tail
Large iguana
Howler monkey mommy and baby, we saw these on our drive up the coast. We stopped on the side of the dirt road we were on and watched them as they climbed around above us for about 20 mins.
Kinda cool sunset photo. My dad took this pic of me climbing on the rocks off the coast.
Check out the spines on this poisonous caterpillar
Unknown kind of lizard, he was maybe 1ft long and hung out on the edge of the shore
This guy was pretty big, maybe 3-4ft and was on the side of a road next to a pasture with cows
Yay! A lizard I know the name of!! We saw a ton of baby iguanas while hiking on the volcano. Check out his vibrant green color.
This frog was TINY! He was in a hole in a shoot of bamboo and was about the size of my fingernail.
Another small frog, about fingernail size also. This guy was singing so loud on a walk to dinner that we could hear him from about 40 yards away. It took me about 10 mins to hunt him down and find him under some bushes.
Another baby iguana
Tucans are very rare to see in Costa Rica, I was only able to manage this quick shot using the 40x zoom on my camera before he flew off.
This was the path we were hiking along while on the volcano, check out those huge roots everywhere
