Field Report, 5/4/08
Mead County Kentucky, Today, 5/4/08
None of the big game we were looking for, but some interesting finds none the less.
Prairie King snake (Lampropeltis calligaster)

This was a new species for this location (and for me personally)
Western Earth Snake (Virginia valeriae elegans)

This was a new species for this location (and for me personally)
Worm Snake (Carphophis amoenus ssp)

Meade county is a natural intergrade range between C. a. amoenus and C. a. helenae. Both ssp and the intergrade exist in the county so your guess is as good as mine.
Easten Fence Swift (Sceloporus undulatus)
Fowler's Toad (Bufo woodhousii fowleri)
And some really interesting Non Herps.
Homo sapiens jamesii
Farmus toolus tractorii (deceased)
Thanks for looking.

Re: Field Report, 5/4/08
I'd like to have the old Farmus toolus tractorii/
Not fair, the only things out around here are my rescue boxies and a frog in their pond. Even the boxies are not really out yet all they have done is surfaced and retreated back into their winter dens.
