Herping Basics.. I need info!

Debating on whether to go herping.. It would be my first time, so I need to know some basics.. What to wear, what to bring, etc.. If anyone can help please do..

i bring a big snake hook,camra [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] (to take pics of your findings,of coarse.)
flip rocks you find.. look near water.. in wooded areas.. i usualy wear long pants like genes
nothing special
i dont know if you plan on keeping your findings..but its always good to bring a large clear container or of that sort to take a better look at your catch [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

i always bring a friend to help me out with takin pics and stuff also to help carry stuff
and its always funner t0 have a friend.. thats what ii do anyway
