Variety is the Spice of Life
All three salamanders are northern red-backed salamanders (Plethodon cinereus) from the same location.

Thanks all for the kind words.
Harold - Sounds as if your finding slimy salamanders (Plethodon glutinosus complex). This complex of salamanders consists of about 13 different species and it can be very difficult to nail down the exact species in areas where the ranges overlap. This is especially true when dealing with subadult animals!
AnacondaMan - Red-backed salamanders reach 2.5 to 4 inches in length. The longest one in the photo was probably 3.5 inches long.

There is no need to ID a salamander in the south. Here, they are ALL "spring lizards" aka fish bait lol....oh...eastern newts are also "spring lizards"...Figured I better add that last part in case anyone got confused
