Nicejob -- They actualy have alot of those annoying squawkers around here.. It really gets on you're nerves after a while and still doesn't seem to make up for there nicely colored bodys. I would have kept that snake :P .. But then again I live in chicago and your probably used to seeing those kinda snakes and mean no interest to you whatsoever.

I just took a second look at these pictures and have one question for you -- How much $$ Did you spend on such a camera with great picture? .. The photos are amazing.

Thanks!
As a general rule, I don't remove critters from the wild, prefer to see them in the field.

Awesome pics John. For once I think I had a better day than you
I went out to Back Bay, and found a couple of copper heads, a couple of cottonmouths, a few bull frogs, and a bunch of turtles.
Of me being the idiot that I am took pics for the first hour and didnt pay any attention on the display of the camera telling me I didnt have the CF Card in.
GRRRR
I did put the CF in and go back to catch a few of another copperhead though.

Thanks all for the kind words!
The pics were taken with a Nikon D100, digital SLR.
BW - I would like to do some real herpin' in GA!
Brian, yes it sounds as if your herpin trip was more productive than mine. We had a cold front with rain for the past few days. When I went out the temps were only in the mid 50's but did reach the lower 70's by late afternoon. The total tally for yesterday was:
5 - northern watersnakes
1 - northern ringneck snake
1 - eastern worm snake
1 - snapping turtle
8 - marbled salamanders
6 - southern leopard frogs
1 - pickerel frog
TMTC - green frogs
TMTC - bullfrogs
Look forward to seeing your snake pics.

Depends on how you look at it: Cottonmouths and copperheads are quality finds, while water snakes, ringnecks and common amphibians are just quantity finds. I'd trade all the stuff I saw for one copperhead or cottonmouth.
