First find of the season
So there I am, several beers into a good game of poker. It's Florida, so it's excessively humid out, but since we don't smoke inside at my friends house, the porch will have to do. At least it's screened in. I've got pocket aces, and another one came up on the flop. I'm thanking my outrageous luck, but clearly underestimating it. Right as I'm getting ready to raise, one of the chicks (I know, I know...chicks at a poker game...don't get me started) screams and yells "Oh my god, a snake just crawled over my foot!" Panic ensues, I quickly ID it as a corn (at night, with sunglasses on...see, I did learn something on the GA camping trip) pick it up, and promptly get bit. Panic continues. I explain that it's not venomous, and show that a snake that small (maybe 10") doesn't even draw blood when it bites. After getting everyone calmed back down, I then got into about a 2 hr. long Q&A about snakes and managed to change a few minds.
So anyway...those of you who know my personal stance on egg layers, prepare to snicker. She came home with me. I'll post pix as soon as I get access to a camera.

hey! how bout that you know--speaking of luck..out of the blue a praying mantis appeared on my brothers shoulder today...then he decided to knock it off. aparantly he didnt know that they bring luck.. *shrug*

lol yeah, no more camping trips for me...I'm just gonna hang out in back yards and wait for them to come to me.
By the way BW...I hopped on your site as part of my lecture on the native vens in the area, to show pix. They were blown away by that "giant" EDB you're tailing. I didn't bother telling 'em you're only 4'8" :P
