HI,
Thank goodness you rescued that snake, The only thing it could be is the snake was laying
in urates and snake poo in the cage... This will subside after a while. I hope it dosen't have
mites, most of my new snakes have there cages treated for a couple months to prevent the
introduction of
mites into my group. Be sure to change that water every day she may be covered with poo and stuff and that water is very contaminated after a soaking, maybe an extra smaller water dish for drinking only and the big dish so she can try to wash off that smell.. It proably taste bad to her sensative tongue ... Yechhhhh!!!! I hope she don't have an internal GI infection, sometimes when my snake shed they pass urates or poo in the shed and its wrapped up like in a baggy you almost have to look in the shed to see if thats where that wonderful smell is coming from...
Her previous owner proably was to dang busy to worry about cleaning her cage...
All of my herps have no odor except the very faint smell of newspaper...
ratsickle
