What type of enclosure? I have a 60 watt zoo med red nightlight bulb on my hot side of my tank , and a human heating pad under two thirds of the tank.

do you keep the heating pad in the cage or outside? I ask because someone I know had a problem with sparks and a blown fuse becaue of a fray from a heating pad they did not notice.
If the pad had been in an animal cage it would have been terrible

you could get a rheostat with sockets for two plug and hook your heat pad up to it and get a ceramic heat emiter to warm the surounding air.
what kind of cage do you have and whats the size and what kind of top do you have?
