Temps!?
I just got my temp gun and i was playing with it and shooting things...
I shot my ig's basking site, And i was wondering if it will only give surface readings? and if there's a difference (or how much of a diff) between the surface temp and the temp of the heat coming from above? (if that makes any sense)
His gauges in the cage read 90-95, and the surface temp with the gun read 110 and even hotter!....is that bad?... how should i adjust the temps?!
Are the gauges totally not accurate?
Please help!

ya the temp gun only measures surface temps but that is really what ya want for the basking site but you need the thermometer for the air temps

I have a thermometer and rheostat but the rheostat doesnt tell the exact temps. The thermometer says its 90-95 on the side of the cage (basking site) and the temp gun says its 110 and higher on the surface directly below the basking site.
How's that?

i dont know what ig's basking site should be but the surface temp is what your looking for for the basking site cuz if the surface temp is say 95 then your ig should be about the same temp use the thermometer just for the warm and cold side air temps and the rheostat doesnt tell temp it just controls the electicity to the heat source
