We have that red bark junk in the cage with our boa is this the best bedding for him? If not what would you advise we use for bedding.

i take it that you mean it is a type of mulch. Knowing the type is good. Mulch such as cedar or pine contain oils that are harmful to your snake. Cypress mulch is good because it retains moisture well, which in turns helps the humidity in the cage. Some use outdoor carpet or newspaper. If you use mulch, do not feed in the cage. If the snake accedentaly injests some of the mulch, it will be harmfull to it. hope this helps.
