Shedding question

My red tail lost his eye caps 4 days ago and still has not started shedding,it usually only takes a couple of days for him to start.Any ideas why it is taking longer?

You will probably want to soak that snake in warm water (85-88 degrees... don't guess, use a thermometer) and also mist the snake with just plain water. If shedding doesn't start soon, take the snake to a vet. The eyecaps are NOT supposed to come off independantly of the shed unless there is some other health problem there.

I'm kind of confused. Do you mean the eyes cleared up or the eye caps actually came off?

If you mean they cleared up just give them a couple more days and you will have a freshly shed snake.

They may have just cleared up I thought the eye caps came off.

ya that what i was going to say mine do that alot gets cloudy then goes away

In that case, just do the misting thing, maybe the soaking thing, and skip the vet thing.
