UVB Lighting

To provide the proper UVB for my lizards and sulcata can I just buy flourescent fixtures from Home Depot and change the bulbs to repti-sun 8.0 or is there some reason I need to buy the fixtures from repti-sun as well.

Just the lamps
Most fixtures are a standard size item, so ou can get a reptile lamp to fit almost any fixture that you get.

thanks, thats what i was hoping. petco wants big bucks for what seemed to be a standard fixture.
next; since buying a computer for christmas and getting online im learning that some of my snake setups are way wrong like the dreaded hot rocks and pine chips. i plan to change to astroturf type carpet and heat pads. can human heat pads be used? if nat do place the pad under the carpet. do i need to find some type of cover in case the snakes get under the carpet? i have 2 upright oak cases, 4 enclosures per case. sorry for the length. any help appreciated
