Damaged eyes-?

I assume this happened at some point yesterday, but I didn't get home until late, and didn't notice it...

When I got up, and went to spray down my RTB's cage a bit, I noticed that something about her eye didn't seem quite right. I took her out and it looks like the rear part of her left eye (furthest from mouth) was DENTED! I'm not sure how this could have happened. (her shoebox hide was flipped on its side when I got home last night, but I'm skeptical that that could have done it). I tried to take a couple close-up pics, but they didn't come out very well (and she didn't feel like cooperating too much).

I was just wondering if anyone has ever encountered this problem, and if so, can you do anything for it? (obviously eyes are a delicate thing, so I'm thinking there's not much I can do, but thought I'd ask).

--On a separate note, she hasn't eaten in just over 2 months (not interested at all in anything I've tried). I've been reading (on here) that sometimes boas and pythons go off feed this time of year. She had been maintaining her weight, but when I picked her up this morning, it did seem like the skin was a little looser than before. -Do you think that somehow her recent 'lack of nutrition' might somehow be a factor in the eye thing??
Any thought would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Steve

dented eyes are a sign of dehydration / humidity too low. Correcting the problem (s} may or may not correct the dented eyes...sometimes they stay for years. Usually though if all is well and the humidity and hydration is right, it will clear up at the next shed....You are sure there is no retained eyecap fro the last shed right?

Thanks Julius...
Yes, both eye caps came off with her last shed. (end of Nov.)
I've got a good sized water bowl in there, but I'll work on the humidity tonight.
As you said, hopefully it'll clear up at the next shed. -which I guess could still be a while since she hasn't been eating lately. (had been shedding about every 10 weeks).

What JuliusSqueezer is correct.

When i bought my first BP it had a dented eye and it also took about 3 months to finnaly come off in a shed. Make sure the humidity is up and every shed make sure the eye caps come off. I remeber thinking that when my sister was holding my BP that she cut his eye on her ring beacuse it took so long for before the dent went away but sure enough it finnaly came off in a shed.

Brad
