red tail question
I just got my red tail a few days ago and I need a little information.I want to put some drift wood in the cage and I was wondering if I need to do anything to the wood before I put it in.I have read a few care sheets and have gotten a few differnt answers.So anyone know what I should do.Thanks in advance,Joe

did u pay for it at a store or did you get outside if u got it out side you need to treet it if you bought from the store or a vender run some water on it that should be fine
|

ya you should disinfect it using bleach and water in a sprayer and soak it down good and let it dry for at least 24 hour then put it back in
|

it doesnt matter where you got it always soak it down with some bleach dont just run water over it cause if there are mites on it water aint going to kill them

To be safe you can mix up a solution of 1 part household bleach and 9 parts water (i.e., 10% solution) and spray the wood until saturated. Let it air-dry outside until thouroughly dried (may take several days in cool weather). You should be pretty safe then. I do this occaisionally with even store-bought wood if I have any doubts.

red tail question
