::groan:: Kyo no baka... Know how to get glue off snakeskin?
My redtailed escape artist got loose and gave me a scare- my sister found him under the pantry shelf, cold and deathly still except for a twitch of the tail. We warmed him up in the bathtub and he seems ok, except for the glue trap residue. My main concerns right now are how to remove the glue (the trap peeled off with warm water, as did teh majority of glue and some of his unshed skin) and how to tell if he may have eaten a field mouse, being the reason for glue traps in teh pantry (blasted rural living)
As much #$%^$%^$%^$%^& as this may be, at least I know he's unlikely to escape the bathtub. Heh. And I'm really, really glad it was a glue trap rather than a spring trap....

Can I be tommorow's idiot?
And as for the glue... i think more warm water and just trying to rub it off (trying not to think of the pun) with a towel or something... How long was the snake loose? It probably didn't have time to eat a mouse... too busy exploring and then being cold i would think. check the snakes for lumps... if something is new in the snake you'll be able to feel it...

I figured that, just worried since I hadn't previously checked the trap, and that's where his head was stuck. And your avatar's too cool for you to be tomorrow's idiot. Maybe you could be Advisor of Astounding Mediocrity? That was my title before I became an evil overlord...

As an evil overlord I certainly hope you have the irrefutably necessary 5 year-old advisor?

MIne has recently turned 8, but yes, I do. She takes care of the neccesary advisor-type affairs, finds Kyo when he, inevitably, escapes, and handles all Evil Tea-making duties. Plus she makes awesome banana bread.
As for the Glue Removal, she has no advice. Rubbing with a washcloth only succeeded in getting said cloth stuck to Kyo's body. He was not nearly as amused as my advisors.

heh, heh. My eight year old advisor remembered Willard using vegetable oil to get teh glue off Socrates (Crispin Glover was awesome in that) and when I called the local Animal Rescue people, they agreed O.o Seems veggie oiul breaks down the glue, then you use dish soap or shampoo to remove the oil. Skeeter (the horror movie buff) and Emily (her equally aged minion) gloated awhile, and thn did this for me. They did it well, too. He's glue-free, but6 thanks to his talent for escaping and finding inconcievable hiding places, very dusty and odd-smelling. I didn't even know my fridge *had* a drain pan...
