i have a tank. a huge tank for her.yes the heating pad has a towel around it.i tried putting the pad under the tank but it didnt keep the inside tank temp high enough.and she wouldnt go near that side cause it was cold.now last nught i put the pad back in the cage and thats where i found her this morning in the towel thats on the pad.i put a wet cloth on the pad (dont worry the pad is rubberized and water proof)and sometimes that helps put moisture in there.
no i dont see the chulky stuff.the only time i seen anything there was a white hard clump of somethng in the bathtub.
how often should i soak her in water and/or gaterade??
i been feeding her 2 live feeder mice every 10 days, but sometimes i wander if thats enough because she engulfs both of them real fast and when its time to feed her again she acts as if shes starving.
also shes very jumpy around people. we handle her alot but she still is. i think its cause of the people who had her before we got her!
ty for helping. and as for the welcome you gave me, it should be welcome back. i posted in here when i first got her

Franki what kind of lid do you have on the tank? That is a huge factor when it comes to humidity and temps.

For snakes that are having a problem shed like such I will soak them on a daily basis myself. Somethimes twice a day even. Just soak for about 1/2 - 1 hour in warm water. You can actually use either the water or gatorade/pedilyte stuff, no need to though unless she is actually dehydrated though. Right after you take her out of the soak..let her run thru a moistened washcloth, this may help the shed to come off also. You can also try gently rubbing the skin to help loosen it off of her at this time too. Just rub it with like your thumb , sometimes this will help to separate the skin and remove it also.

Do you have any pics of her available at all ? [ for sizing] In regards to the feeding...You could actually move her up to full grown mouse if she's not tiny. Just make sure that her girth is as big around as the mouse and she should be able to eat it no problem. Also move her to a 7 day feeding schedule too. Try one mouse for now, but if she's been taking 2 you could offer 2 of them and see if she'll take it in feeding. I wouldn't go anymore than 2 prey items atm with her, never more than 3 total in a feeding either. By increasing her prey size and moving her feeding schedule to a closer proximity you should see her not acting so hungry.
Like Countryboy said . the type of cover on the cage will make a difference in the humidity factor in the cage. Assuming that you are using a standard screen cover for the cage... Try placing either a towel or some plastic over about 2/3rds of the cover. That should help to keep some humidity going in the cage also. A bowl of water on the warm side , with a covering on the screen on that side and misting the cage should help to raise the humidity in the cage. Make sure you also keep a bowl of water on the cooler side for drinking though too.

Thanx for linking the threads Eddie

OK..Franki. think I figured out why you keep opening new threads here possibly when you should actually be posting your responces in the going thread on your topic which you posted here.

At the end of each post there is a button that says "REPLY" Just click on that lil button and you will get a window to place your post in. Then hit submit at the bottom of that window and you will get a new window with your reply added to the thread. You can participate in any of the threads on the site by doing such also.

As for the towel and misting..try that and let us know how it goes then.
