Hello again everyone. Been away from the site for a while. I have a question but first I'd like to publicly thank Squeezer for being a foster parent for Lucy (7'+
BCI) for the last several months.
Thanks so much Eric!
Now my question: Lucy appears to be wheezing a little bit. I've noticed it before but thought nothing of it. She has in the past been treated for a URI with injections and so forth. She's not blowing bubbles with her nose or anything, so I don't think it's that serious now but I'd like to increase the humidity in her cage. She's in a
5' x 3' (correct me if I'm wrong Squeezer) and has a litter box in the lower level that is 2/3 full of water. I'm thinking of using
Sphagnum Moss in a hide box or something of that nature to increase the
humidity. I've heard horror stories of
mites or mold etc from keeping the moss wet constantly.
Is this something I should be concerned with? I like the natural look it provides but dont want to use it if it's going to negatively affect ehr in the long run. Also, how 'bout cypress? I hear you should
bake it first to
kill any critters in it. How 'bout if it's
frozen now from being out in the cold Chicago winter?
Is that sufficient to ensure that it's safe? Ok, enough rambling. Thanks in advance for your help.
