Young RTB STILL is not eating!!
HI all! I am the newbie that posted a few weeks ago regarding my son's new 8 month old rtb that wouldnt feed.... we took the suggestions made to heart and seperated him from his tank mate (another same age rtb)....So Red now has his own pad with all the goodies (good temp, good humidity, hide, waterbowl, etc.... ) We have handled him on a very limited basis and he STILL isnt eating! It has been 4 1/2 weeks now since he last fed. He is still acting the same has before - no real changes in his behavior....just looks a little thin. His ex-tank mate is doing well; she just had a perfect shed and is eating just fine. WHAT in the heck am I suppose to do now??? Is it time for the vet??????

Vet is always a good idea just for a checkup...but be sure to find a good vet that knows his herps.
I am not sure if I remember you last post but what have you tried feeding?

OH HAPPY DAY!!!! I tell ya, i had just posted and turned off my computer, then sadly walked over to Red's feeding box to put him back in his tank after another unsuccessful attempt to feed, and I gave his little pink rat pup one last wiggle and BAM! He hit it and swallowed! I am sooooooooo relieved!! We have tried f/t mice, freshly killed mice, then bloody freshly killed mice then more f/t with no success.... tonite th winning choice for my little Red was a f/t rat pup. ANYWAY, I had to get back on and share my jubilation (everyone else in the house is already asleep!). GOOD NITE ALL !

Stick with Rats and rats only on this snake. Its better for the snake and usually gets a better reaction out of them. None of my rtb's have ever ate a mouse

Thanx for the heads up on that ... I wish I would have tried rats sooner. They are more expensive, but who cares, as long as my boy eats!
Cya!
