hi.i am the same person who posted in here a couple times about taking in a hurt redtail boa. its tail was messed up. well she is ok now as for her tail, but she started shedding and i feed her when she was starting to shed. i thought that since it was time to feed her i needed to even though she needed to shed.but its been 17 days and he skin still isnt all the way off. there is still most of the old skin on her belly.she has stuff to rub off on. the skin just acts as if its still alive. also i have only had her about 2 or 3 months and this will be her 2nd shedding since ive had her. is it normal for her to be shedding about once a month.
i keep a heating pad under her tank on low, she has a big wter bowl in the mifddle of the cage and a heat light and branch on the other side.and she wont lay on the side with the heat pad. she ats as if she dont like it at all. she is my first snake. so im running into many many questions.i want her to have a good life. i try to soak her in the tub once a week. she hates it. here latley i been soaking her everyday trying to get that extra skin off. i even been soaking her in gatorrade.last week she pooped in the water everytime i put her in it. and she has never pottied in her cage.i dont ever even see her drink water. when i go to sleep shes in one spot when i wake up she is still in the same spot so i know shes not moving. im afarid she might be sick. i know she dosent have mites or anything. she swallows the 2 mice like they are nothingso shes still eating.so what am i doing wrong?? please help me guys!

Ok..First off..

WELCOME TO REDTAILBOA.NET!!!

Now for your questions..
First off.. What are the temps exactly in your cage ? Especially right on top of that heating pad also? Do you have anything covering that heating pad like a towel or such ?
YES It is normal what your snake is doing in the amount of times it is shedding since you have had her.
BAd shed... UGH.. I hate when that happens.. Try rewading thru our care sheet here on RTB in regards to bad sheds.. I think we have that one covered here atm. I don't think i'd go with the mineral oil on her as yet. She still is under a year old. have you tried the shed-ease stuff at all for her. i have seen people use that on snakes and the shed just slides right off no problem with it being used. You can get this in a pet store also.
As much as she hates the water, some snakes are just like this, nothing you can do about it at all, she does need to ghet that old shed moistened up in order for it to come off of her. Try placing her in a soak in a bowl that has a cover on it so that she has no choice but to soak. Just make sure that the water is only deep enough so that she can just lie in it basically...ya don't wanna make her "swim" too much and exhaust herself so that she drwons on ya.
As for the never pottying in the cage thing...
have you ever found/seen white chalk type substance in her cage at all? If so this is her peeing,,. It's called urates BTW. That's actually not a bad thing that she poops when she goes into soak either...much easier to clean her cage when she does such ya know lol.
Just cause she is in the same spot as you last saw her when you wake up does not mean that she has not moved around at all at nite. They are nocturnal animals and if they have a prefernce to where they like to jst chill out in their cage.. that is where you will most likely find her all the time anyway.
IS there anything going on that you say you think she is sick other than this stuff? I wouldn't neccessarily say she sounds sick from what you have said though. Sounds like she has a bad shed going to me atm.
OH as for humidity.. what exactly are you using for a cage ?
