Snake for children?

My almost 10 year old daughter loves our RTB. He's about 5' long now and she holds him and helps care for him, including feeding. I'm wondering if there is an appropriate snake for children. I would obviously help her and supervise handling, but would like her to be able to take care of it it without my help as much as possible. Not because I don't want to take the time or anything selfish like that , but so that it would be HER snake. I'm looking for something with a good temperment, child handleable (I know thats not a word) size, as simple to care for as possible, and fairly inexpensive. Is there such a snake? Thanks for your ideas.

I was going to suggest a corn too. My daughter wanted a snake and after careful consideration I got her a male albino from a breeder in California--then my smaller daughter wanted one (of course) so I got an okeetee female.
They are very easy and you can start them in a 10 gallon...no uvb....easy.

Hey,
I think thats a great idea. I got my first snake when i was real young like 5 or 6. It was a ball python. My mom had no prior snake experience but she learned and helped me. So you having experience should be a big plus. Im 13 and am now getting a new rtb this week. I would recommend an albino corn because most kids think they look cool and will have something different. A bp is my other choice it was my first species and they are usually very tame and if youre careful they make great necklaces and bracelets whick is a plus compared to the corns that are always trying to escape.
