A new home

My Lano needs a new home.
He is a 4 foot rtb and wants plenty of room to grow. He is my first and this will be my first time building him a home. I need suggestions... I would like both above and underneath heating, as well as suggestions about a thermostat (or just ventilation and temp regulation). Anyone who has built an enclosure or has one and knows what theirs is lacking contact me. All suggestions welcome.
Thanks

What is your budget? Are you mostly concerned with functionality or do you wish this cage to be a masterpiece work of art and design? Basically it's a box with a window/door. How fancy or not and out of what materials is all a matter of personal taste.

Some suggestions: Measure as close to perfect as you can. Cut straight. Use quality/straight wood. Floor space is WAY more importaint than height and in fact...a tall cage becomes a heating nightmare because the further away the above heat source is...the more it pans out at the bottom of the cage, killing any hope of a gradient. The thickness of the material used on the cage bottom will dictate whether the heat pad can go above or below the bottom panel and what type would be better will depend on that answer.

I have built 3 cages for my snakes so far, and plywood on the outside and linoeum on the inside has worked great for me. email me if you want specifics. I would probabley go with a 6ft long cage, unless you have room for bigger.
