Im curious. I had 2 of them in the past and they grew rather slowly. Mine got about 5 feet in about 3 years. Is that normal growth for these snakes? Thanks

yeah.. that sounds about right. I have 2 that are about 3 yrs old and they are 5 to 6ft. They can grow somewhat faster if power fed but this usually tends to making them obese.
To give you a general idea, here are the sizes of mine. THese measurments are not totally acurate but are real close. I havent measured them in a while now.

7 to 8 yrs old.........9'
3 to 4 yrs old.........6.5'
2 yrs old.................4'

I had read somewhere that 6 ft in a year was the normal growth rate...did I get some bad info or something? I feed mine every 5-7 days, with varying sizes of pinkys. (it's only 18 in. right now...)

I would say that was some bad info... What size is your boa? Smaller earling boas are usually fed every 7 to 19 days. When they are larger and feeding on medium to large rats, then feed then every 12 to 14 days. All mine feed mostly every 14 days.

WOW...I thought it was every 5-7 for babies/yearlings! Anyway, he/she's around 18 in., and quite slender. maybe like 1/2 in. wide. Taller than it is wider... Boas are known for their square-ish shape, right?

ummm.. sorry yall.. There is a typo. It should be every 7 to 10 days for yearling. Not 7 to 19. Most people keep it more to the every 7 days there but it all depends on the size of the rat. But definately every 7 to 10 days sounds much better than the other.
