First Time
So today is my first time feeding f/t and I hope it goes well. He was eating live and the last few times I have fed him pre-killed and he ate them just fine. So I hope I dont have a problem switchin over. But here is the question... How do you know when the mouce is ready? Any responce would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rocky B

Re: First Time
Squeeze the mouse and if remains warm then good to go, if you feel any cold spots, then heat some more.
What are you feeding?

Re: First Time
feel the mouse... it should feel nice and warm all the way through.. and you shouldn't feel anything "crunchy" inside... It should feel nice and toasty to the touch

Re: First Time
I have a rtb. I think he is just a norm rtb. I got him from a reptile show. He is starting to take awhile to eat? Is it normal? He never refuses but with the pre-killed i put it in there and it took about two hours for him to eat

Re: First Time
Agreed, get some long tweezers and dangle the mouse in front of his nose

Re: First Time
So after 30min of doin the dance, I decided to put it in their with him and within 5 min he was eating it. When I was doin the dance he backed or shyed away from it! I think that it stresses him moving or being live or thinking its live. I dont think ge even wrapped it up!

Re: First Time
Yep! Im sooo happy! Next week Ill just put it in there and let him do his thing. He has eaten up to 3adult mice at a time. I would like him to switch to rats. Should I order rat pups or weaned? Not sure the size difference.

Re: First Time
lol...... If he can eat 3 adult mice at a time then he should be able to eat weaned rats... pups are just a little bit bigger than an adult mouse... so yea... I'd try weaned... lol
