Yeah I have NO clue, it's just weird. I'm going to make a wild guess and say that I used newspaper that was carrying them? (I have a huge box of it and I'm not sure where it all came from). At least that's what I'm hoping... except that they completely covered her shed. So they were alive at some point.

Nope, she's a Dumerils boa, which is illegal to export. Also, I've owned her for 2-3yearsish and I've never had any type of bug problem with any of my snakes.

Re: What is this??? DUW
I would guess that they aren't mites ... way too big.... they look like a different type of bug altogether, maybe something that found it's way into the cage??? I dunno...

Yeah, I agree...kinda appears to be some type of larva or something...I would get rid of them once you do your inspection....or at least seal them in something.

Bleeeeck! I probably should have but I already threw them away.
They kind of remind me of these wierd bugs I found in my frills cage, there used to be a lot of places for his food could get away and...er, reproduce. but that was a long time ago, and now I mainly feed him dubia roaches.

Not out of state... I need to check my other cages but the rest are shedding/just ate. I think I'll dig through my trash and see if I can find the shed.

Re: What is this??? DUW
Well I got them out of the trash and they shrank. I tried to dissect one but I basically just squashed it.
I put the rest in a bag with some wet newspaper and in the warmest room in the house. Hopefully they didn't die...yet.

Re: What is this??? DUW
Well if it didn't crumble that means something is going through a metamorphosis.Keep them in a jar with a lid with moist paper towels i guess.

Fly pupae. Those little irritating flies. No need for a vet. Hang a no chemical fly strip near the enclosure(s).

Michelle beat me to it, lol.
A round of permethrin spray in the cage likely wouldn't hurt either (Provent-a-Mite, Black Knight, etc).
