KSBs good beginner snakes?
I went to a local reptile specialty store yesterday and saw some Kenyan Sand Boas I have looked at them online and such and they seem to be pretty low maintenance snakes. Are they good for beginners? I know they are not the best display snakes well because of the burrowing. But I did get to handle one and they seem very docile and tame. Also would a 24x18x18 size terrarium be a good size for one? Also if anyone has ever owned one of these do you have any tips to offer???

Re: KSBs good beginner snakes?
They're awesome beginner snakes, as long as you get one that is an established feeder (babies can sometimes be finicky, much like Ball Pythons)...but once they get going they are nearly bulletproof.
Just use quality shredded aspen as substrate, keep the warm side around 88F and you're good to go.

Re: KSBs good beginner snakes?
Sand does suck....it is much messier and can get in their mouth reyes and nostrils much easier. Even though they are "sand boas" they don't really inhabit pure sand dunes in the wild.
