which paint???
im building a custom cage for my boa and need to know which paint i should use.. i know there shouldn't be any toxic chemicals in it that could harm the snake, but i just want to make sure im buying the right kind before i start painting. thankss

What type of material are you using to build the cage? And do you just want to paint it so it looks nice or is there another reason?

Kindergartens use non toxic paint and what not but it's probably not safe for snakes because they're sensitive. I think your best bet would be to paint the outside of it, not the inside.

Use acrylic. It is water based, easy cleanup and takes a LOT less time to dry/cure. When done painting, seal it with polycrylic for the same reasons to add a waterproof barrier (at least 3 coats)
