Help Housing two boas together?

I have had a 4 year, 4 foot, male Guyana Red Tail boa for almost a year now.

I have recently bought a 6 month old Colombian Boa.

I keep them in separate cages, but I am just curious if it would be a bad idea to keep them together?

I figured yes, because of the age and size differences, but a few people have made me wonder if it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Hope this isn't a ridiculously stupid question!

Thanks in advance,
Kate

Re: Housing two boas together?

This is asked fairly often, and it seems to be the general consensus that it is a bad idea unless during breeding season. some possible problems that could occur is hide spot disputes, and during feeding, they could possibly strike at the same item and constrict each other.
*Also if you do not know the sex, you do not want an accidental breeding. Many people would be appose to crossing a BCC and a BCI (my self included.)
It is best to just keep them separate...

As I tell my students.... "there are no stupid questions....just stupid inquisitive people." (sorry, just had to say it.)

Nope, not something you really want to do for lots of different reasons.
