I was just wondering if I could duct tape the probe from my thermometer inside my boa's cage, I didn't know if somehow the tape would harm the boa. Any suggestions appreciated

It would work.. except that if the snakes ever rub on the tape, it can get them in a nasty, hard to remove without harming them trap.
Try Lowes or Home Depot, see if you can find any split plastic ground wire clips.
They come in some pretty small sizes and can be attached easily with either wood screws or machine bolts and nuts.
That is if your cage is wood or plastic.
If it's glass.. good luck..

I've also considered this in the past as my male BCI seems to love aggravating me by tangling himself up in the temp probe or rheostat probe, i alway get worried lookin at the temp reading thinkin it is too low then realizing what really is goin on. Dumb snake! Other than duct tape (for reasons eddie named) and the ground wire clips, anyone have suggestions of how they have done or might have thought of doin to secure probes in a cage. I have a boaphile and dont wanna put screws in it or anything. Tape sounded ok but as eddie said, doesnt look like the best idea now.

You may want to try low temperature hot glue.

I use aquarium sealant and it works great! The one thing to remember is they will have to be out of the cage overnight (24 hrs). I have some six foot females that crawl around on it (it's under the newspaper) and they have yet to dislodge it.
Another point is that you will need to set your thermostat a few degrees lower as the sealent does not really conduct heat well. Mine is set at 85 and maintains 88 great.

Glue from a hot glue gun, think that would hold? I think i would prefer to use that cuz if i did want to remove it later or so some moving around with it, it usually peels off pretty easily with a little bit of picking.

I wouldn't use duct tape...for one, it has a tendency to de-tach itself from objects it wasn't intended to hold after awhile, yet can remain very sticky. I new someone who had a snake that got tangled up in duct tape once (thank goodness it wasn't me!) and what a mess that was. Duct tape doesn't come off snake skin/scales very easily and usually results in some skin ripping and tearing. I'd go with the aquarium sealant (silicone) if the clips don't work. Hot glue could be a possiblity for a temp fix. My experience with the hot glue is that over time especially in the hot humid like a cage the strength of the bond will fail. Go with the aquarium sealant or bite the bullet and drill the holes and run the wires through the holes.
If you shop around there are some remote probe thermometers with a very small probe that would require a hole less than a 1/4" diameter. A couple of my cages are done with small probes running through a hole drilled in the back wall about 1" above the substrate.... it gives me the best of both worlds. The probe can be moved as needed by pulling wire thru the hole and relocating the probe and I dont have wires running all over the inside of the cage.
