My snake sleeps all the time

All my snake does is sleep! Daytime, nighttime - it doesnt matter. Sleep, Sleep, Sleep. Is this normal?

Note: It does not star gaze, and it does respond when i get near it. It also feeds well. Its a columbian bci. Every time i take it out of its tank to handle it I feel bad for waking it up. If I take it out, it just goes back to sleep in my hand.

If it responds when you get near it then I am will to bet it's not sleeping. Maybe just ignoring you? Maybe?

welcome to the world of snakes, where most of their time is spent at rest.

Snakes only really move around when they are hunting, looking for mates (males) or shedding, or trying to get away from something that is bothering them.

Hmmm...there's a contradiction in there somewhere....but i just can't seem to place my finger on it.
