Missing scales above one eye, then the other!!

This one has got me very confused. Grendl, my Hog Isle RTB, suddenly was sporting a yellowish white spot above his right eye. I looked closely, and it looked like he lost a couple of scales there. I thought maybe it could have been a bad shed, or perhaps he rubbed himself on something in his cage. Is that possible? It had started to fill in over the last couple of weeks, when I noticed another spot over the left eye! The right eye looks almost back to normal, but now the left has a small patch of missing scales. What could this be?

honestly I don't know....TAKE IT TO THE VET IS MY ADVICE!!!! but for now I'd put some neosporin on it and keep an eye on it. probably a bacterial infection. Maybe you can soak your snake in some water and add some betadine I think it is. Just don't leave your snake in it to long or it will have a lovely orangish tint for a couple of sheds....is your snake in shed by any chance?

So a bacterial infection can cause scales to come off and no other obvious symptoms?

And why above each eye? That sounds odd. I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens.

it's hard to tell what it might be. Could be from rubbing against something or could be a bacterial infection. Apply some neosporin to it and keep an eye on it for awhile. If it continues you might want to have it looked at be a good reptile vet.

UPDATE!!

It seems that somehow FEEDING is causing the problem to appear. He had almost totally healed until last night. After one rat, he had patches over each eye where scales were missing.

Guess it's time for a trip tp the vet.

Or feeding extremely too large of food items?
