I can't believe this.....
Hey everyone my bci Rosy has somehow contracted mites, early Tuesday morning Rosy's last heat emitter bulb blew and there was no way to aquire one until morning. I figure no biggie I work at noon I can run to this mom n pop store around the corner, it's a bird/reptile /fish store, big mistake! Me being a complete idiot rush into her room without washing my hands nor the plastic package the bulb came in. Anyway Friday night Rosy was soaking and I knew it then and under closer observation I noticed a mite on the side of her bowl I wasted money on some mite off and have fumigated her room and both her tanks with repel fogger similar ingredients to black flag. Now my question I put her in her tank after about 7 hours, I washed most residue off her tank but I can smell a very faint fragrance coming from the corners I believe, I've been watching her since 1 pm and she seems fine except for the facts shes in a new environment. Will she be okay? Sorry for such a long post. Rosy is a bci about 2.5 years old about 3.5 feet thank u

Re: I can't believe this.....
im not sure about the mite stuff ive never used it.
i can make a suggestion for you though if she still has the mites.
get some mineral oil and rub it all over her body. dont get it in her eyes and mouth but start behind the head and massage it down her body. then repeat. after doing this two or three times
then wash her off.
what happens is the mites can hold on to the snake when they get oiled. so they just slide right off.
then of course wash the cage with water and bleech.

Re: I can't believe this.....
I do not believe the Faint Fragrance would be a problem as long as fresh air can get into the tank. When we wash jenna, our bcc, there is usually a light scent in the tank afterwards, but it is generally gone after an hour at most.

Re: I can't believe this.....
thanks everyone, I read the info here and a few other reptile forums also, she hasn't soaked for over 24 hours and I haven't seen any mites on her nor on her bowl. I let her room and items air out but I was worried because the repel fogger uses two ingredients and I don't want it to kill her. I read on a reptile forum that a member there uses black flag since repel peramone is almost impossible to find. Rosy seems fine just not really too active and she's been asleep alot but the mites kept her up for 2 days it seemed, I just really hope she's good and I'll guess I'll figure it out
