I am not sure what to do, we fed our snake last tuesday. We saw her swallowing it before we went to bed. The next morning the rat was back in the cage. WE cleaned out the cage and so on. We tried to feed her again. This time she showed no interest in the new rat. We left it in there for a day and the bci never looked twice at it. We took it out over the weekend. Lastnight we again put the new rat in the cage thinking maybe she would eat now, and this morning I found them sleeping together in her house. I am scared that something is seriousley wrong with our bci. My husband waited a little too long to feed her this time so hunger shouldnt be an issue. We do not know what to do. We cant afford a vet right now, so any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We also have to get rid of her, the plan was to feed her make sure she was ok and try to find a home for her. So any suggestions or information on where we can bring her and so on would be appreciated at well. I dont want to just dump her off somewhere, I want to make sure she is taken care of. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your quick response! You guessed right, we do feed live rodents. When we got the snakes we were told to feed live because it was better. I didnt realize it wasnt good for the snake to be fed live food. We have had the snake for approx 3 years. We were given a brother and sister, however, she attacked her brother and it died about 2 years ago. Since then her aggressiveness comes and goes. Sometimes we can hold her and she is fine. Then there have been times when we have walked past the cage and she jumps at us. I have been scared of her since that has happened and I do not hold her anymore. My husband will hold her depending on how her temperment is. For the last several months, my husband has been working 7 days a week so to make a long story short she hasnt been held very much. This is the reason we are getting rid of her. We are also expecting a baby in 3 months, and we are both a little scared about having a aggressive snake living here with us. Honestly I think she just needs someone that can spend a lot of time with her as far as her aggressiveness goes. She wasnt always like this. We dont want to sell a sick snake at all. That is why I posted this. She neds a good home, but I am also concerned about her helath, I dont want her to die. The rat regurge ahs never happened before and it freaked us both out. I will have my husband remove the rat tonight and we will wait a couple weeks as you had said. Now to answer the rest of your questions.....
the cage size is approx 3.5 in length/2.0 in depth/2.0 in height
we use a heater that we have taped underneath and outside of the cage. We also use a metal lamp on top of the cage.
I do not know the humidity of the cage/dont know how to test
The snake is approx 3.5-4.5 in length
the rat is about .5" long

Now another question: How would our snake get parasites? Thanks again
Angie

Thanks everyone for your help. We tried feeding her on saturday, and no regurge. We are going to wait a few weeks to make sure she is ok. Hopefully if all goes well we will be looking to find her a new home. Both my husband and I appreciate all of your help!
