Need pointing in the right direction!

Hello everyone!
I need a little help finding a snake a set my mind on. For the past couple of years I have been taking care of an adult Argentine Boa and I fell in love with her!!! Now that she was moved to another state, I miss her greatly and want to find a baby Argentine of my own. I know they are on the endangered list and that makes it so much harder to find them. And another thing, I am only willing to buy captive bred snakes and that limits down my search to almost nothing. I'm not fond of buying snakes from reptile shows either because I know most of those snakes are wild caught. If anyone has any info about respectable breeders in ohio, please let me know!!!!!

You shouldnt have many problems finding a cb argentine boa.
There are quite a few breeders of them out there.

Due to CITES & Argentine restrictions it would actually be rare to find a wild Argentine boa anymore, or at least through any respectable circles. Most of what you find thru reputable dealers are going to be c/b. They're on my 'shopping list' also! [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

It should not be too hard at all to find some good CB animals.
The pet store I use had a beautiful argie in there last week, it was a about 28" long and I think it was a female. So it will get quite big.
Keep looking around, when it's meant to be it will happen, and remember....
Check here or the fauna classifieds BOI before buying from a dealer online unless you already know them!

I got 1 baby and one on the way I just bought off of reptilemama from this site. Give me a couple of years or at least a few and I might be a breeder. anyhow, there are always tons of them out there. Just post a want in our trading post and I wouldn't be surprised if you got an answer. Telefrag.....I can't believe you posted a link to that other site!! Maybe you weren't around when we had our fallout with that site. I'm just messing with ya!! anyhow, I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya. I'll have update pics soon of mine hopefully....I do have some in my album though....They are awesome snakes!!! Good choice, but keep in mine they do get huge!!!!

I only went to that "site" just to find an argentine boa merely to show that they are not that hard to come by.
Took me 30 seconds to find some for sale.

You should check with Rich, at Piedmont Reptiles. Some people on the site have dealt with him, and he has good posts on the BOI. His website is

His animals are clean, healthy, and his shipping is great. Also, his prices are most of the time a little better than most. I purchased 2 argentine boas from him a yr or so ago, and they are great. Couldn't be more pleased with the quality and price. Good luck!_________

P.S. He breeds his own argentines, and not near what he has in the shop are listed on his website, so just e-mail him if you're interested, or give him a call. I buy all my animals from him, but I live within driving distance. His shop is very clean, animals all healthy, and he a straight up guy.
