My dad and I just built a larger cage for my rtb. It is 6x2x2. It looks real nice. I stained the outside wood and the shelf inside. I used the stain that has polyurethane in it already. We used 100% silcone to seal the inside paneling. I used the plastic paneling like you get for the bathroom. However, HERE is the PROBLEM. I have let it air out for over 2 weeks and it still stinks inside. I am afraid to put the snake in there. I don't want him to die from fumes. What can I do? Do I need to do something else? I have sent Eddie and email and ask him to post some pics, since I haven't figured out how yet. I am anxious to get him is a bigger cage.
Thanks Tonya

im out of my element here, but im sure when building vivariums you have to use aquarium grade silicon (not the stuff used on your house) as chemicals in it will kill the snake.....not sure about stain....plz, correct me if im wrong

you should give it at least 30 days to clear out the fumes, to be on the safe side

I was told aquarium silicone is nothing but 100% silicone. Now what do I do? The cage is already built. If I put aquarium silicone of the other stuff will it seal off the chemical in it? I don't want to tear the whole cage apart. I have quite a bit of money in it. What are my options??????????
