I have a dumb question............

I have been on this site for a few months, and I totaly enjoy it, but I gots a Q. When People say things like-----> "1.0 Ball Pythons, 1.0 Mississippi Map Turtles, 3.1 Cats, 2.0 Austrailian shepards, 0.1 Blue Healers, and 1.1 Horses"............what do the numbers by the types of animals meen?? I cant figure it out! Sorry about my ignorance.
