as some of you may know, i recently got a BCI. as i was looking through my storage room, i found Fir bark. every care sheet ive read says that cedar should most deffinatly not be used and lists a few that are ok, but it none of them make any mention of Firbark. so if anyone has any info, please let me know. fir bark can be used but as i found out, it splinters pretty bad. but it is all personal preference. I just swtiched 2 of my cages to aspen and i love it. but fir isnt harmful ot my knowledge.

also make sure you treat it for mites before using it, i like to spray my whole bag with my mite spray but some others bake it in the oven for about 10 minutes at about 350 degrees i think.

Not too sure about that. I thought any type of conifer tree put out oils that are irritating to herps. I know pine your not supposed to use. And of course cedar. I stick with newspaper.
