Heat tape question. Advice needed.
Next weekend, I'm getting my new plastic enclosures. They are very similar to boaphiles and will stack one on the other. They are 6' X 2' X 2'. The vendor says you can just put one piece of heat tape in between the 2 units and it will heat both. Assuming I keep my house at 75 degrees, is this correct?
One snake will have the heat from above, and one will have it from below. The heat tape will be plugged into a rheostat. QUESTION: Do I need another piece of heat tape above the top cage and below the bottom one? Do the snakes need to have heat from above AND below?

Re: Heat tape question. Advice needed.
You need the heat tape under both enclosures.
The heat tape between the enclosures will do little to heat the bottom one and won't provide a warm area for the snake to rest on.

Re: Heat tape question. Advice needed.
So do I need heat tape on top of the top one, too? Or is belly heat enough?

Re: Heat tape question. Advice needed.
belly heat is enough. the tape on top will give very little heat. the main reason you want it on bottom is to give a warm spot for em to lay on while digesting food.

Re: Heat tape question. Advice needed.
Too bad they can't be there for your birthday this weekend. Congrats though. We'll be looking forward to seeing the pics.
