Red Tail Help
Ive had a redtail for about 2 years and he has been great up to about 3 months ago. I found him in my back yard and at that time he was about 3 foot. Now hes about 5 foot and hes a good eater. He got alittle rat shy for about a month but has since gotten over it. I have noticed that he hasnt pooped in about a month and really hasnt had a good poop in about 3-4 months just white and alittle brown. He has also been crabby. He has bit me once and my wife once and ever since then he seems like he freaks out. Ive also put him in the bath tub and he really doesnt like that. I dont want to get rid of him but I cant have an agressive snake around either. Please help!

Re: Red Tail Help
Where are these people that they find snakes in their backyards and washing machines? I need to relocate.
Back on topic, it sounds like you feed him live...I hope I'm wrong about that. Is this your first snake? There are many reasons a snake might bite, from you smelling like a rat, to getting spooked by a strange movement...they are unpredictable critters and getting bit once in a while is just something snake keepers need to deal with. If he has done a complete 180 in a short span of time he may be ill. What is your enclosure like? What are the temps and humidity? Was he in shed when he tagged you? Does he shed ok?

Re: Red Tail Help
There's also a possibility he may have parasites, especially if he's eating live or pre-killed. Any way to get a fecal? I echo everyone else's sentiments about finding a boa in your backyard. All I ever find are mosquitos.
