We just bought a big bag of cypress mulch and a bag of 5% sevin dust.
I am going to dump the mulch into a big garbage bag and treat it with the dust. How much dust do I use for a bag of mulch that is 3 cubit feet/84L?
Thanks!

Use seven dust to kill mites that are there...then you have to throw away the subsrate...If you want to treat substrate for "just in case" use proventamite or (sawyer's tick spray) just a little puff will do and you don't have to change the substrate.....call me if you need to talk about this further anytime 24/7.

I think you have it covered by now but if you don't, you can also just bake the mulch in the oven. That being said, I'm not sure what a good temp is. Just watch it VERY carefully as I'm told it bursts into flames quite easily.

200-250 degrees F is ideal. Anything higher and you'll likely cause smoke and possibly create a fire even Just bake for like 2 hours is all that is needed btw.

Hehehe, Lori also has some good recipes for iguanas and burms that you can cook at the same time as the mulch!

No Mites - Thank GOD! Was going to do this process as a preventative measure. Will keep the sevin dust on the shelf and grab the stuff you recommended. We looked for it but could not find it at the Depot, will check the pet stores. You aren't just the Guru of Poo are ya Jules? Thanks for the info.
Hey Eddie, what side dishes go with iguana?
