Bad shedding.
Your link for the Bad Shed thread is broken. I apologize for any redundancy.
Female, about 4 or 5 months old. Red Tail Boa. I feed her an adult mouse every week or two. It's spaced a bit sometimes, because I'm worried about feeding her while she's shedding. She's a good eater.
She has been going in and out of shedding constantly for a month or two. She can't shed her head skin at all. Her eye caps have been there for a few weeks now.
I was misting her with warm water twice a day, but nothing was happening, so I bought some vitamin skin conditioning spray to help her along. It's not working either.
The rest of her body seems fine with the shedding, it's just her head.
I'm worried sick about her.
I took her out tonight to soak her a warm bath. At first, she wasn't flicking her tongue at all. She started flicking a bit when I put her in the bath, but she kept opening her mouth as if she was trying to breathe. She seems a bit lethargic.
What can I do? Please help me!

Re: Bad shedding.
Humidity is about 60 and Temperature is 75/90. Also, as you can notice, her skin is wrinkled. She's not starving.

Re: Bad shedding.
Humidity needs to go up...way up. Soak him MUCH longer/more often. You can get stuff called "shed relief" that helps.

Re: Bad shedding.
How far up? Any tips on increasing it? I have her water dish over a heating pad, and I mist every day with that shed relief stuff. How often should I soak her and for how long?

Allriighty then. Your humidity needs to go up to probbaly 80 or so. Misting with shed relief won't help, you need to gently rub her with it. Mist with regular water. Soak in water that is slightly less than warm to YOUR touch for a while every day (20 min or so). Just keep this up and she should be ok. DO NOT attempt to remove her eyecaps or stuck shed.....
