extreme heat damage?
I've posted in another thread about a new boa I've recently bought. I set up a cage with a 100w bulb for the basking area. It was housed in a 4x2x2 cage. I had thermometers on the sides of the cage that read correctly, but when I started having problems with my boa the pet store told me to check the heat under the light. The temp was about 105! Now I have moved him to a smaller tank for recovery, but he is really weak, lethargic, and he moves his head in a jerky manner. Almost seisure like. Did the extreme heat that he was under mess up his head? Its been a week with no sign of recovery.

Re: extreme heat damage?
i think the site you are talking about is this one..... it is critical that we know the rest of the conditions (in cage such as humidity, and set up) follow the stcky in the HELP section.... it will make life easier to diagnose the problem

Re: extreme heat damage?
I cannot say that heat is definately what caused your snake's problems, but I can say that it is a likely culprit.
This is why I always suggest a non-contact infrared thermometer in addition to permanent in cage thermometers. The digital will read the hot spot as well as give you important information like what temp your snake is basking at. Pick one up from Radio Shack.
As far as diagnosing the condition, from what you described, it needs to see a vet as soon as possible.
