is it possible for the snake to get visually healthier soon after mite treatment?

i have 4 month old columbian boa.. second day after getting him i noticed mites.. NOT HAPPY. Reptile store told me to treat with ivory soap and gave me directions. A week later with hardly any success i call back and was told to use a lice shampoo called nix. Two days ago when i used the ivory soap I seen his eyes go kinda hazy and his movement slower/less strength. I just treated him with nix about an hour ago and im thinking i can already see him getting better. Is this possible? Nix contains permethrin and thats what kills the mites/ticks. any help on how to use nix in a more successful way or anything about recooperation would be greatly appreciated.

Truthfully never had to worry about it that much and never heard of using dandruff shampoo.

nix is not dandruff shampoo... it's lice shampoo, and it works about the same as provent-a-mite.

Re: is it possible for the snake to get visually healthier soon after mite treatment?

soak the snake in luke warm water, then witht he nix 500ml water to 50 or 60 ml of nix whatever amount comes in the little bottle. and put it in a sprayer and do the cage with it and sit for a bit. clean out or whatever.. and with the snake spray it in my hands and strokeit down the snake.. i rinsed him off after about 20 minutes of doing so and thats about. i think he has quite the infectation but when i was doing this i seen some in the water but when i was done i can still see some under scales... more than 4 or 5 of them. any ideas?
