My 4 month old boa is having a bad shed, coming off in pieces. I have heard about Shed-Aide and Shed-Ease. Can you tell me where to get these products and are they any good.

Thanks,
Iceberg

I use the "Shed Ease" on all my snakes. It comes in a 8 oz. bottle. It's made by ESU. I works really good. Also, so mine don't have bad sheds, I keep the humidity higher when shed comes closer. You soak them in warm water mixed with the Shed Ease, and it works grrrreat.
Chris.

I wouldn't bother with the shed-ease stuff.. it's basically water with some aloe (vitamin E)
in it... basically a marketing ploy. Just soak your snake in luke-warm water (not hot) for
about 30 min or so, let it crawl thru a towel or against your hands.. just do that every day
until all the shed has come off. (you can also get capsules of vitamin E, which can be added
to the water or rubbed on the skin to help... but I've personally never needed that, the
water soaks have always worked)

I also bought some vitamine E tabs, added them to water, and put it in a spray bottle. Helps keep thier skin shiny and makes sheds easier.

oops forgot to mention that marketing ploy here hehe. Yeah many of the "items" that are for sale in stores for reptiles are actually somehting that ya can throw together and would be more cost affective yet do the same thing for your snake...
