Trouble Eating Sideways
Hey guys. My boa constrictor just finished shedding so I fed him. FIRST he hardly even struck at it and didn't really constrict. He just put him mouth near the f/t mouse and bit it somewhat slowly.
But the problem is that he took it sideways..Usually he's up on the vines and gravity makes the mouse turn the right way. He's on the bottom of the tank and he's not really working his way more towards the head. It's been about 10-15mins and he's still trying every now and then.
It's probably nothing and just takes time, but I'm wondering what do you guys do? Just wait?
Thank you.

I laugh at them for being stupid.
And then I just wait for them to finish swallowing as usual.

Re: Trouble Eating Sideways
LoL. just making sure. I wouldn't want him getting stressed for spending about 30mins and counting for eating sideways..
I gotta admit he is trying..hes constricting the mouse now and the mouse is sort of bending in half haha
Thank you

Yea, I wouldn't have been worried if he was making some progress but he's still where he was at about 35mins ago and still trying..
His mouth is pretty stretched out.
O well, i'll just wait and play counterstrike sourse lol

Re: Trouble Eating Sideways
LOL. They just are not the brightest bulbs on the tree, are they? Mine have eaten sideways and backwards on occasion. They just fold it in a little u-shape and swallow. It's even funnier when they decide to look for the head and take forever to find it (I mean, come on, there are only TWO ends to choose from.....).

Yeah... watching them I like to fill in the dialog.
"This end smells nice... but wait... let me try the other. Hmmm... this end smells nice too... hang on, let me compare. This is the right end... I am sure of it! No... maybe it was the other one after all..."
