BRB help!!
my BRB shed last night, shed was fine and shes been in her hide all day, i got her out for a roam about half an hour ago and she was inquisitve and active, tounge flicking away, anyway nothing unusual but after about 20 miniutes of her been out she started to make noisy exhales but remained active and inqusitive with short toung flicks but every couple of breaths she did a noisy exhale, does anyone have any ideas what this could be?, she wasnt doing it when i first got her out so maybe she breathed in a bit of dust or something?, there are no bubbles coming from her nostrils so im not sure if it could be an RI but im really worried for her, hopefully im been over cautious but better that than undercautious as i would hate her to get sick.

Re: BRB help!!
Without actually seeing the animal, it will be hard for anyone to accurately diagnose her. Keep your eyes on her.. and if she does it again (or anything else to give you concern) let a vet have a good look at her.

well i left her back in her hide for an hour and got her out again for a minute to check and listen and she wasnt doing it at all, im going to take her for a check up just to be on the safe side though, i think it was most likely that she breathed in some dust because she went behind the sofa and i looked, it was a little dusty but im going to get her checked out for piece of mind as she means a great deal to me.

Re: BRB help!!
I can't recall ever hearing of a BRB with an RI, but my memory ain't great. A trip to a qualified and experienced herp vet probably isn't a bad idea anyway.

Re: BRB help!!
u said she just shed... she probably didnt get all her shed off her nostrils or around her face so when she exhales it makes a little whistling noise... u could soak her in some water for about an hour it can help... but its probably nothing to worry about, most likely its just a peice of stuck shed and will come off sooner or later, it happens.

Re: BRB help!!
I don't know the answer, but I'm just here to offer moral support. I recall one time my boa was breathing hard when she was in shed cycle and also had a rat in her belly at the same time. I think it was just stress. Hopefully, it was temporary with yours, but please let us know one way or the other, okay?

Re: BRB help!!
just to update evryone, i took her to the vet today and he had a good look at her and we talked for a while about her husbandry etc which he was very happy with, he said it could be a bit of stuck shed or a little bit of dust but she isnt doing it now and he had a look in her mouth to check for any signs of infection which thankfully there wernt, hes given her a clean bill of health and just said to check up to see if she starts doing it again but said shes a very healthy snake , it really is a weight off my mind knowing that shes ok and was well worth paying the vet charges just to make sure
