What should I expect to pay for a BCI baby ?

Hey all just for my own personal referance what should a nice ababy BCI cost. See I am going to a show on NOVEMBER 2nd and I hope to buy a nice BCI. I have never priced them and i really don't wana get ripped off buy a breeder. I don't really know any really good breeders in mi , or if they will be at the show. So any help would be wonderful.

I don't know if it varies by location, but around here in NC: from a breeder, $125..........from a pet store, $160 & up.

You can usually find a nice normal from $65 and up. Obvously in boas like in life, you usually pay for quality.

if you come to NY on a good year, when every one had boas... you'll see them for $40 bux!!!!

either way normal pricing is from $50-$150, in a pet shop you may be charged more.

We usually have normal baby Colombian Boas at a show for around $75 to $80. They are probably available for less than that from some others but be careful if the price seems insanely low. The most important thing is that you want to make sure you are getting a healthy, feeding animal. Good luck!

I agree with wetceal. Here in Colorado the pet stores have baby BCIs for 45 bucks, but i wouldnt trust them. Its ok to pay more for a healthy animal that eats and doesnt have any health issues. I once got a BP from a mall, very stupid. It was only 30 bucks but after only 5 days it began to have seijures (sp) and then died. Good Luck

Around June-July when everybody has babies, you can get some nice snakes for not much money. I was just about giving them away...

i would say avereage is 100.00 by me it depends at one pet store thats strictly hers he sells them from 75-95 depending on his supply. Regular pet stores are about 140.00 by me. Be careful of the store you get them from though. Dont buy them from a Petco or similar chain you'll be looking for trouble. Old sayings are true, You buy Cheap You get cheap. Always true unless you know the person well your getting it from.

In Missouri there are a few factors to figure in 1. the time of year 2. the looks of the animal 3. who you are buying from. I have seen a few people who think their stuff came from a golden womb. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif[/img] Normaly you can get them from 80.00 to 150.00 around here. We usually price ours at 100.00 for a show because everyone feels the need to talk you down to 80.00 which is what I want to begin with. LOL [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img]

1: November 2nd Troy MI
2: november 2nd taylor MI
3: November 10th Novi Mi

I am not sure off hand the buildings they are held in. You can go to www.herpshows.com to get more info on the times and places of these shows.

yea, down here they go from $50 (cheap) to $150.00 (petstores) we sell them for $110.00 so i guess the price varies according to where you live. but since you are going to a show it shouldnt be too bad. but you still want to be careful [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img] good luck in finding one when you go [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]
